Description

An Art Laguiole Knife Inspired by the Four-Leaf Clover

The Forge de Laguiole Art Cutlery Collection brings together the most distinctive creations crafted within the manufacture. Conceived as true collector’s pieces, these exceptional knives showcase technical mastery, creativity and the uncompromising standards that define every Forge de Laguiole creation. The Trèfle model embodies this philosophy, offering an elegant reinterpretation of the traditional Laguiole knife. This 11 cm folding knife features a handle crafted from mother-of-pearl, a precious material renowned for its luminous reflections and natural depth. Its most distinctive element is the reinterpretation of one of the iconic symbols of the Laguiole knife: in place of the traditional bee stands a finely sculpted four-leaf clover, a timeless emblem of luck, rarity and prosperity.

The Forge de Laguiole Expertise in the Heart of Aubrac

Since 1987, Forge de Laguiole has preserved and elevated the cutlery-making tradition within its manufacture located in the heart of the village of Laguiole, on the Aubrac plateau. Every knife is handmade in the workshop according to a tradition dating back to 1828. Each piece is shaped, assembled and finished by a single Master Knifesmith, ensuring exceptional consistency and attention to detail. The blade is forged within the manufacture before being assembled, polished and finished by hand. This approach gives life to unique creations that reflect both the heritage of Laguiole and the expertise passed down through generations of knifemakers.

A Creation by Stéphane Rambaud

Born in Lyon in 1968, Stéphane Rambaud is recognized as one of France’s leading Master Knifesmiths. A graduate of the Nogent Cutlery School, where he was awarded the Gold Medal as Best Apprentice of France in 1987, he joined Forge de Laguiole in 2005. Since then, he has created remarkable collector knives that blend tradition, technical precision and artistic expression. The Trèfle model perfectly illustrates his approach. Its satin-finished stainless steel liners are enhanced by delicate leaf-inspired filework. The mirror-polished spring and high-gloss blade bring light and elegance to the knife. A satin stainless steel bolster, combined with an ebony wood inlay, completes the harmonious balance of materials and refined finishes.
