Description

The Valentin folding knife belongs to the most exclusive creations of the Forge de Laguiole Art Cutlery Collection. Crafted as a one-of-a-kind piece, this Art Laguiole knife celebrates the bond between two people through refined decorative work and meticulous detailing. Its dark horn handle, enhanced by a red veneer, creates an elegant contrast that highlights the symbolic nature of this exceptional creation. Every element evokes connection and affection. The spring is hand-chiseled with two lines gradually intertwining, symbolizing two paths coming together as one. The iconic Laguiole bee has been reinterpreted as a heart formed by its wings, while a red stone set into its body adds a precious and meaningful touch inspired by passion and devotion. Located in the heart of the village of Laguiole, on the Aubrac plateau in southern France, Forge de Laguiole has perpetuated the traditions of fine French cutlery since 1987. Within its manufactory, each knife is shaped through a succession of highly skilled operations carried out with precision and dedication. Every knife in the Art Cutlery Collection is entirely handcrafted within our workshops. The blades are hot-forged in our manufactory before being assembled, adjusted and finished by hand. This demanding approach gives rise to unique creations where technical mastery, aesthetics and personality meet. The Valentin knife features a forge-finish blade, appreciated for its authentic appearance and distinctive character. Satin-finished stainless steel liners provide strength, balance and elegance, completing the harmonious design of this exceptional folding knife. Born in Lyon in 1968, Stéphane Rambaud is one of the leading figures in French cutlery. Trained at the renowned Nogent Cutlery School, he was awarded the Gold Medal for Best Apprentice in France in 1987. Since joining Forge de Laguiole in 2005, he has created remarkable knives that combine technical excellence, creativity and respect for the historical codes of the Laguiole knife. For this unique piece, he offers a poetic interpretation of Valentine's Day. Inside the spring, the discreet engraving “à nous” (“ours”) introduces an intimate dimension that reinforces the emotional significance of the knife. The Valentin folding knife is a one-of-a-kind Art Laguiole knife made in the Forge de Laguiole manufactory, located in the village of Laguiole, France. It combines a dark horn handle with a red veneer, a forge-finish blade and hand-crafted decorative details inspired by love and union. Its heart-shaped bee, hand-chiseled spring and unique design make it a remarkable piece for collectors, enthusiasts of fine cutlery and anyone seeking an exceptional object that embodies French know-how and the heritage of the Aubrac region.
